1: So my first review is for a baby blanket, it’s by Lionbrand. It was pretty simple, and I honestly don’t like blankets that aren’t knitted diagonal so this one worked out great. I started it while I was babysitting, I multi-knit so it took me longer than it should have. It’s so easy I have it memorized! Now the downside is that the final corner was stretched out, it did this because of the weight of the blanket. Not a negative towards the pattern, more one towards my knitting, if you make this you need to keep the blanket up near your hands so it doesn’t stretch. I think once it’s washed it’ll be fine. Also it wasn’t as big but that was due to my choice of yarn, I recommend finding the size yarn they used and use it or their brand of yarn to make the right size.

2: This pattern I’m not sure who made it but it’s on TLC website. They’re Mary Jane baby booties, they’re so cute! I made them in about 1 hr each so they’re quick and fairly easy too. They need a fairly small button so make sure you have two that match, they really turned out cute with the I love this cotton brand from hobby lobby, I got the pink and green ombre. I really liked these so I hope you give them a try. I do believe they’re only in 0-6 month size.

3: This one is also one I don’t know who made it, it’s on Jimmybeanswool.com. It’s a hat called Anna’s Angel Hat. I made this one twice in the I love this cotton pink and green ombre and in a baby yarn light purple. It is too cute, easy and has a very cute flower on it. Now you can either make the flower or not, it has the pattern for it on the same page. I really like the flower, it make it so much cuter and since it’s going to be spring soon it works out great. It was quick to make too, I highly recommend this pattern.

4: This is Girly-Girl skirty soaker by Amy Kenagy. This was so cute! I used the same pink and green I love this cotton. I think this was the right choice for a skirt for my niece. I almost went with a different one and I’m glad I didn’t. This is a more difficult pattern, it’s not for beginners in my opinion. But it was simple enough that I made it within a weekend. I of course didn’t knit the whole weekend so it might not have taken as long if I did. But it is a very cute skirt and on top of that she has another pattern for it for toddlers so you can make it when she grows out of this one.

5: Baby bell bottoms by Alison Hansel from the blue blog patterns. This one is cute I made it recently, it took me a little longer to make and I didn’t use any elastic for the waste because I didn’t have time to go to the store before I shipped it. But it seemed like it didn’t need it but is a plus if you could use it. I think it’s cute and I can’t wait to see pictures of her in it. I found it easy, and I love that it has more than just newborn sizing.

I had been babysitting but stopped before Christmas, I had a very good Christmas. My niece was born on my nephews birthday, who had been born on my grandmothers birthday. 3 birthdays in 1! We moved, finally! I am so glad too, my neighbors were the worst. If you ever have a choice don’t move into an apartment. We’re now in a nice older house that is a little out in the country and my neighbors aren’t 10 feet away! Oh and my Blood pressure is high and I keep getting BP headaches.

Now my blog, I am going to try to update more often, and I’m going to try to make new patterns. I’m currently make me a purse for Renaissance, I’m debating on the pattern because I’m not really keeping track of what I’m doing. Plus financially it’s hard to buy the supplies for knitting right now which is making it harder to come up with patterns since I don’t want to waste yarn I can’t replace right now.
One of my favorite yarns comes from ben franklin in Kingsport TN and I don’t live in TN it’s at least a 6 hr drive and shipping is too costly so I can’t buy it.
Now if anyone has any requests for a pattern I’d love to hear them, I have a hard time thinking of stuff.
As of some reviews I’m going to update later this week with a few that I’ve made for my sweet niece.

These are done with Ombre yarn from ben franklins in Kingsport TN. We visited there a while back and I love this yarn, unfortunately we don’t live near there so I have to wait to get more.

The buttons I got from walmart, choose whatever you want as a button.

Items needed: medium 4 yarn
US 6 dpns
button
yarn needle
Might need string for the button depending on the size of the holes on the button.

CO 39
1-5 Seed stitch in the round
6-35 Seed 7 K12 Seed 7 K13
kitchener the bottom

pick up 18 stitches on the side with twelve stitches of ST and begin seed stitch with a slip stitch edge. Repeat pattern for 18 rows.

19 seed 7 whatever stitch is next in the pattern K or P 2tog, yo twice, then K or P 2tog and finish the seed stitch pattern.

20-22 Seed with the Slip stitch edging

Now the next part of the pattern is the shoulder strap or belt loop, you can even do both if you want.

For the belt loop CO 13
Seed until desired width of most used belt, I did it slightly smaller and stretched it out when I attached it to the bag so it won’t stretch out as much during use. Mine was about 15 rows

Sew it on to back.

Shoulder strap, pick up 7 right next to flap and work towards front of bag.
Seed until desired length and attach to other side of bag.

Today I’m getting some rest before I go back to babysitting tomorrow.

Thread yarn through last 4 needles and pull tight, weave in the ends.

Crochet chain to make bows for the mittens to help keep them on (I also did this for the booties pattern so they’d match)

It’ll be September before we know the sex, but the good news if the baby is two days early then it’ll be born on my Granddads birthday. Now the main reason it’s neat their first born was born on my Grandmoms birthday, so how neat would that be?

I’m so excited about the baby, that since I won’t know the sex for a while I’m making both gender stuff and when I find out which I’m sending them what I knit as a celebration of which ever the baby is.

But anyway if you’re reading this and know of a really cute pattern for newborns or otherwise let me know, I’m knitting stuff for my nephew as well so he doesn’t feel upset that YaYa made the baby stuff and not him. So toys, blankets, hats and booties if you have any really cute patterns send them my way!

Here’s the blanket I’m working on now it’s pretty cute seems awesome a little worried since it’s lace at points so my idea make this and then one out of the garter pattern so little fingers can’t get caught.

This one is pretty basic, I’m not happy the other two didn’t work out but maybe I can work on it later.

Also sorry it took me forever to get done, my husband and I had our second anniversary recently as well as I have more than knitting projects going on. I’ve got TONS more projects so when I get tired of one I work on a different one. Which is one of the many reasons it’s taking so long. Plus I think I needed a small break from knitting, my fingers were getting pretty sore. Mainly this case is why, tiny needles + tight knitting = sore fingers.

What you need: US size 2 Double pointed needles
cable needle

2 counters or knit counter or knit counter lite for ipod touch

We had a blast and found out some neat things like Fiat (Italian car brand) just opened dealers in the USA (thankfully!) plus the child in me got excited when we saw a meet and greet with Hello Kitty! lol But I didn’t want to wait in line for 1 hour so we looked and left; but I did get a photo with the Pillsbury doughboy and Tara Tomlinson one of the owners of Sugar Kneads Cakery that appeared on cupcake wars this past week. They were throwing a grand re-opening because they moved so that was fun, we bought a cake from them and shared it with family.

So it’s been busy and plus since we got our new/used car we’ve been back and forth to the dealer to get things fixed, as well as me getting yelled at by the guy who sold me the car cursing at me and basically calling me an idiot. Yeah I went straight to the manager and he was a very nice man who has been handling everything since. But since our car is European getting even the smallest parts is a pain so I’m still working on it.

Now tomorrow I’m probably not going to be able to finish the pattern but I will try to finish it this week. So keep an eye out for an update I’ll post as soon as I can. Happy knitting!

Fairlady Z is a 6lb Chiweenie (Chihuahua dachshund mix) she’s spoiled and named after one of our favorite cars. So since she’s a weird shape I measured and it’s a little off because of her breed but it fits and works pretty good. I will admit it’s hard to make, mainly attaching the parts for the harness. I can’t really describe it very well so it’s something you’re just going to have to play with.

As you can see I did a duplicate stitch on the chest to make it cute and if you don’t know how to make a duplicate stitch don’t worry it’s not too hard but it’s better to have a chart that you can follow instead of making it up as you go. The Z I did is the emblem for the car she’s named after, I made the chart myself it took time to get it right but it looks pretty decent.

What you need for this pattern: US 6 needles
US 2 DPNs
An old harness or cheap harness for the parts.
A tapestry needle

Basics you need to know for this pattern: Stockinette
I-Cord
Increasing Knitting Front and Back
Decreasing Slip Slip Knit and Knit 2 Together
Mattress Stitch and Shoulder Stitch

Measure your dog make sure you have a good idea on what size he is or if you have a harness you aren’t going to cut use it as a reference. If you have a bigger dog it might be easier to use a larger needle and to alter the pattern because what I did won’t work for you. If you can’t figure it out let me know you’ll have to give me your dogs measurements and I can figure something out that should work.

Chest pieces: You need to use US 6 (or bigger for bigger dogs) and CO 24

Slip stitch edge is Slip 1 PW and knit the last stitch on both RS and WS on every row

Row 1: S1 K the rest
Row 2 (WS) and all even rows :S1 P the rest
Row 3: S1, Kfb, K20, Kfb K1 (26 sts)
Rows 4-7: Stockinette
Row 9: S1, K1, SSK, K18, K2tog, K2
Row 11: S1, K1, SSK, K16, K2tog, K2
Row 13: S1, K1, SSK, K14, K2tog, K2
Row 15: S1, K1, SSK, K12, K2tog, K2
Rows 19-30: Stockinette
Row 31: S1, Kfb, K14, Kfb, K1
Row 33: S1, Kfb, K16, Kfb, K1
Row 35: S1, Kfb, K18, Kfb, K1

Repeat this for the second piece of the chest DO NOT sew them together yet!

Straps: Now you need to attach an I-Cord to one of the corners, to do this you need to pick up 3 sts about 1 row into the Stockinette (I mean the Stockinette pattern so about 2 rows if you count the slip stitch edge). The working sts need to be on the WS of the piece and you need to do it from bottom to top, it should be pretty easy to tell what’s bottom and what’s the sides. If not the top and bottom are wide and the sides get narrow to fit between your dogs legs so look at my dog’s harness and you’ll see if you still can’t tell it should look like )( if you still can’t figure it out let me know, also the WS of this part will be facing out and the RS will be facing your dog. Back to knitting!

Pick up 3 sts working yarn on WS on the bottom of the chest piece(you need to cut the yarn long enough to make your I-Cord and feed it through next to your sts)

1-20 Knit I-Cord
21 slip needle into yarn as to knit another part of the I-cord slip the circle on your needle and k1 wrap yarn through the the circle so it’ll make a second loop on the ring make sure it’s back on the side it was k1. for your third st wrap the yarn again but make sure you have it on the other side of the ring this time and the K1
22 BO (best way I can describe it hope it helps if not I’m sorry)

Next to your BO sts on the circle you need to CO 3 sts so it’ll be in the middle on the top of the ring when you finish, feed yarn through the circle and slip your needle in the circle as well and begin a long tail CO
1-5 Knit I-Cord
6 slip needle into yarn as to knit another part of the I-cord slip the clasp on your needle and k1 wrap yarn through the the clasp so it’ll make a second loop on the ring make sure it’s back on the side it was k1. for your third st wrap the yarn again but make sure you have it on the other side of the ring this time and the K1
7-11 Knit I-cord
12 slip needle into yarn as to knit another part of the I-cord slip the D-ring on your needle and k1 wrap yarn through the the D-ring so it’ll make a second loop on the ring make sure it’s back on the side it was k1. for your third st wrap the yarn again but make sure you have it on the other side of the ring this time and the K1
13 BO

Pick up 3 sts on the WS on the top of the chest piece on the same side.

1-20 Knit I-Cord
21 slip needle into yarn as to knit another part of the I-cord slip the circle on your needle and k1 wrap yarn through the the circle so it’ll make a second loop on the ring make sure it’s back on the side it was k1. for your third st wrap the yarn again but make sure you have it on the other side of the ring this time and the K1
(make sure the piece with the clasp and d-ring are in the middle on the top part of the circle ring or it won’t work right)
22 BO

Repeat these steps for the other side and make sure the clasps are facing each other

Once you get this part done you can weave in the ends to get it out of the way, and if you want to do a duplicate stitch go ahead and do it on the other piece for the chest. If not go ahead and sew the pieces together, shoulder seams for the tops and bottoms mattress seams for the sides. Make sure WS are facing each other you want the RS to be facing out

Make sure it fits your dog then make another I-Cord, this time make it really long and don’t attach it to anything yet. When you get it to the desired length slip it through the D-rings making sure not to twist (because I forgot to) and hold the edges together or pin it together before BO and see if you can slip it on your dog easily. If you can then BO and sew it together, I did a shoulder seam it’s not as pretty but as long as it holds I really don’t care.

Make sure it’s big enough in the car for your dog to sit, lay down, stand up, and move around in one seat with the seat belt on. I keep a dog bed in the back seat for mine so she can be comfy and so far it works great, though she wines like crazy because she’s spoiled and wants to sit in my lap.

It’s a hard pattern and probably hard to follow with how I typed it and I’m sorry but it’s not an easy pattern to type out. If you have any issues I’ll help you, good luck and happy knitting!
